Painting that develops horizontally, we find in the center a beautiful putto who hands the apple to the pair of figures on the left (see photo). To her right, a lady depicted in scantily clad clothes and with an apple in her right hand is caressed on the face by a second putto (see photo). In antique times, the symbol of the apple was often used to indicate a promise of love or an explicit invitation to physical union. Among the most famous references we find the myth of Aconzio and Cidippe to which this painting could refer. Aconzio, in love with the young priestess, engraved a promise of love on the peel of the fruit and rolled it near Cidippe.
The beautiful priestess, intrigued, read aloud the words written on the apple and was therefore forced to keep the oath of love. Quadro che si sviluppa in orizzontale, troviamo al centro un bellissimo putto che porge la mela alla coppia di figure a sinistra (vedi foto). A destra una dama raffigurata in abiti discinti e con una mela nella mano destra viene accarezzata sul volto da un secondo putto (vedi foto). Il simbolo della mela nell'antichità era spesso utilizzato per indicare una promessa d'amore o un esplicito invito al congiungimento fisico.
Tra i più celebri riferimenti troviamo il mito di Aconzio e Cidippe a cui potrebbe far riferimento questo quadro. Aconzio, innamorato della giovane sacerdotessa, incise una promessa d'amore sulla buccia del frutto e lo fece rotolare vicino a Cidippe.La bella sacerdotessa incuriosita, lesse ad alta voce le parole scritte sulla mela e fu quindi obbligata a tenere fede al giuramento d'amore. Dipinto di bella misura e proporzione facilmente inseribile in diversi punti della casa, per antiquari e collezionisti. Cornice non coeva del XX secolo, in legno e gesso, piacevolmente scolpita, cesellata e dorata. Opera che ha subito un intervento di restauro conservativo, rintelo, sostituzione del telaio e ripresa del colore in alcuni punti.

In der sich horizontal entwickelnden Malerei finden wir in der Mitte einen schönen Putto, der dem linken Figurenpaar den Apfel überreicht (siehe Foto). Rechts von ihr wird eine leicht bekleidete Dame mit einem Apfel in der rechten Hand von einem zweiten Putto im Gesicht gestreichelt (siehe Foto).
