The dial is protected by a glass door. The mechanism is protected by a door with a grill and red material. The sides of the clock case also have grills allowing the user to hear the gong when it being struck.
The original 8 day mechanical movement is present striking the hours and half on a bell. The clock is by the famous black forest clock manufacturers Winterhalder, Hofmeier & Schwaerzenbach and retailed by Smith and Son. The clock is complete with pendulum and winding key. 30 cm high x 21 cm wide.
Overall, the clock is in good condition, with some signs of age and usage. Please note, whilst the clock currently works, during transport, all clocks are moved around a lot, and therefore, they may require setting up upon receiving them as well as the possibility of requiring professional assistance or a service as they can get'stuck'.
