Antique French Bronze Clock, Circa 1830. A large and fine French antique Charles X bronze mantel clock dating to circa 1830.

The clock demonstrates the finest quality of craftsmanship and is. Completed in the Rococo style and features scroll work throughout. To the front elevation, the clock drum houses a white enamel dial with blue hand painted Roman numerals and outer chapter indicating minute marks within an ormolu beaded rim. The clock is raised by scrolled feet and is surmounted by a classically dressed lady standing next to a vase of flowers and a dog whilst holding a bird. The figural group is extremely well chiselled throughout. The clock features an 8 day twin train silk suspended mechanical movement striking the hours and half on a bell and is regulated by a countwheel. The mechanism is stamped by. The piece comes complete with pendulum, winding key and bell. 43 cm high x 29 cm wide. Overall, the clock is in very good condition. The clock has a clean movement and has recently been serviced. Please note, whilst the clock currently works, during transport, all clocks are moved around a lot, and therefore, they may require setting up upon receiving them as well as the possibility of requiring professional assistance or a service as they can get'stuck'.
